It’s been almost 12 hours since the 2006 election cycle ended so you know what that means?
That’s right, it’s time to talk about 2008! And, we have news this morning that Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, trying to get some buzz before others officially announce, is filing papers to run in ‘08.

Is It All About Gas Prices?

Professor Pollkatz has a chart which has shown some evidence that there has been a considerable correlation between President Bush’s job approval rating and the price of gas.
As I was driving to work today, I noticed that one of the gas stations I drive past was selling unleaded for 15 cents lower than the price from two weeks ago.
It will be interesting to see if the correlation continues, and in the coming weeks we see an uptick in the President’s standing.
