Matthews Thinks Granholm Is A Genius? I Guess He Doesn?t Know She Is The Worst Governor In The Country

September 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Geoffrey Dickens caught Hardball today, and Matthews had this to say about Granholm:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Joining me now is Democratic consultant Nancy Skinner, who helped prep Jennifer Granholm, the Michigan governor, who is playing Sarah Palin in Joe Biden’s debate prep. What an interesting role you’re playing. Also with us MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan. Nancy, tell me why you think Governor Granholm, who’s what, an Ivy League grad law? What? Didn’t she go to Harvard Law or something? She’s a genius. You think she is, in, in her manner, in her background and she’s born in Canada. How does she sort of fit the role of Sarah Palin? Why is she a good sparring partner to play that role?

Genius?

GRANHOLM HOSTS TOWN HALL ON ENERGY…the only alternative energy Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is an expert in is the hot air she creates trying to blow us away in five years. Too bad she can’t bottle that.  9.1% unemployment and a single state recession over the last 6 years.

“Michigan voters know firsthand what happens when you elect inexperienced, smooth-talking politicians with rock-star appeal: Absolutely nothing.”

For six years we’ve been listening to Governor Jennifer Granholm give good speeches and watching her pose for well-scripted photo ops, but Michigan voters have gotten nothing for their efforts. In Granholm’s six years in office, Michigan has the single-worse unemployment rate in the nation, one in every 20 homes is in foreclosure, and not one of the five new major automotive assembly plants being built in the United States are located in the birthplace of the world’s auto industry.

Governor Granholm, without exception, is the worse Democrat governor in recent memory, and that Democrats would trot her out for national television interviews shows how unprepared they are to accept the mantle of leadership and move our country forward.

If you like what Jennifer Granholm has done for Michigan, you’ll love what Barack Obama will do to America!

Granholm held a townhall meeting to talk about our problems and it did not go well:

Grand Haven resident Jerry Scott, manager of an automotive parts firm, asked Granholm whether part of Michigan’s economic woes are because it requires workers to pay union dues.

“Where do you stand on Right to Work?” he asked, the phrase for states that allow workers to opt out of unions.

Granholm told Scott she did not believe union protection is the reason for Michigan’s manufacturing decline.

Asked afterward if he was satisfied by her answer, Scott said: “No.”

“It’s an issue that, for whatever reason, she doesn’t want to go there,” Scott said.

This idiot, and I do stress idiot, had this to say about Granholm prepping Biden:

Many parallels have been drawn between the two governors as being attractive ex-beauty queen sports moms, although Granholm’s educational qualifications and political experience dwarf Palin’s.

When confronted about Granholm’s failure as a governor, this is the reaction:

I love the Republican talking points. There is no comparison between Granholm and Palin if you compare their interviews. Our governor is competent.
